Wordsure finds your level, then teaches the advanced words you're missing, one at a time. Spaced reviews and quick games keep them for good.
Free to start · No ads, ever · A few minutes a day
A quick level check estimates how many advanced words you already know. Wordsure then skips what you know and starts exactly where your vocabulary runs out.

Every word comes with everything you need to actually use it: a clear meaning, pronunciation, a natural example, synonyms, collocations and where the word comes from.

Recognising a word isn't the same as owning it. Each new word goes through meaning, fill-the-gap, synonyms, sentence building and listen-and-spell before it joins your reviews.

Spaced repetition brings each word back at the moment it starts to fade, so a few minutes a day is enough to keep everything you've learned.

Wordsure doesn't stop at definitions. Each word shows where it came from, which is often the detail that makes it stick. Catch a new one every day in our Word of the Day videos.

You see a series of words and say whether you know them, with a few “what does this mean?” questions mixed in. Some words are invented, so guessing doesn't pay. Wordsure estimates your vocabulary, shows your level, and picks new words just above it. You can also choose your level yourself.
